Oak Leaves and Acorn

These oak leaves are an adaptation on the Russian diagonal peyote stitch leaf. Assembled with spider webs and acorn they make beautiful, flat lying pieces.

With a little fantasy and some patience this leaf pattern could adorn lampshades or become components for jewelry.

One day, beginner/intermediate workshop.

In a two day class students will be able to explore other leave shapes in a variation on the diagonal peyote stitch

• Diagonal peyote stitch

• 15# seed beads in clear gray or gold for spider web, green and brown for acorn

Daisy Chain

These individual flowers hook into each other like the daisy chains we make on a lazy sunny afternoon in the park. Starting with the heart in a circular peyote stitch, followed by Ndebele stitch for the stem, and finishing with embellishing the flower pedals, each flower becomes a one of a kind.

With patience and some imagination this pattern is easy to adapt into your own creations.

Fish and Such

A fun way to explore the three dimensional possibilities of tubular peyote stitch. With embellishment these little ocean dwellers all have their own personality. This is also a fun way to use all those small amounts of leftover beads from other projects. Using tubular peyote stitch with in- and de-creases gives a world of three dimensional possibilities at your fingertips.

Anemone

Working with a beaded base gives these flowers their natural look. Using flat peyote stitch with picots in- and de-creases, the petals and leaves are stitched individually and assembled to the base. The anemone is just one of the flowers you can create in this technique.

• double and single drop peyote stitch with picots, in- and de-creases
• embellishment

• 15# seed beads for the pedals and stamen in four different colors
• 11# seed beads, yellow for the heart, green for the leaves

Butterflies

A tubular peyote stitch base shapes the head. Tubular peyote stitch with in- and decreases creates the body of this magnificent insect. The wings are in diagonal peyote stitch and assembled to the body. Assembled legs and antennae finish this little piece.

The possibilities in this technique are endless and with some changes you'll be able to create a bug collection of your own.

Master Class

Explores the possibilities in three dimensional beadwork. Using any and all stitches available, this workshop has no boundaries. Students will go through the process of translating any object or idea into seed beads.
